Since the church was founded on May 12, 1953 by the Rev. Robert Shaw and fifteen other people, the church has experienced steady growth over the years.  At each level of growth, the church has sought to provide space for the family of Sunnylane to both serve and worship at the location of 3900 Epperly Drive.  After nearly 50 years in one location, the church simply ran out space to continue growing.

However, God opened the door for  Sunnylane to go forward into a whole new level of work and ministry.  In 1997, He provided an answer to the need for more land.  The church was able to purchase over seven acres of land located at 31^st and Holliday.  The church took a step of faith and purchased the land for nearly $500,000. We were able to pay off the property in 2002!

The church soon began working with an architect and developed a master plan for the new site.  Our planning team has spent hundreds of hours seeking the Lord’s wisdom and direction.  In 2003, the church planning team began engaging the entire church family in the process of designing new facilities.

The church has been waiting the past seveal years raising money for the new campus that will be built.
