Philip was born at Poteau, Oklahoma on June 14, 1965 and was born-again September 13, 1973 at Hodgen, Oklahoma. The Lord called him to the ministry at 11 years old while he attended the Big Creek Baptist Church. The Lord has given him the opportunty to pastor churches in Oklahoma, Texas and Missouri over the last 25 years.
He was married to Shanna Cherry on January 25, 1985 at Tahlequah, Oklahoma. God has blessed them with two children: Stephen (16) and Karyn (12). Shanna has served the Lord in the Preschool and Children areas of the church. She completed a R. N. degree from Rose State College and works at Saint Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma City.
Philip has attended Northeastern State University (B.A.), Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (MDiv), and Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (DMin).
Philip has many hobbies but his favorities are playing golf, hunting and fishing. His favorite bible verse is Psalm 20:7 "Some trust in chariots, and some in horses; But we will remember the name of the LORD our God." You can read his salvation testimony at www.MostImportantThing.org.
Associate/Education Pastor: Greg Mikes
Greg came to Christ in Feb.1978. Licensed into the Ministry at First Southern Del City,Ok. 1980 and later ordained at Sunnylane SBC 1992. Greg is married to his precious wife Cheryl and has two daughters and 4 active Grandchildren. Greg loves Jesus and is so thankful for the difference Christ has made in his life. Greg enjoys traveling and construction and currently is serving as the Church Contractor/Project Manager building our future campus at 3201 S. Holiday in Del City.
Worship Pastor: Shawn Davis
Role: Leading the people of SBC in worshiping Jesus.
Family: My wife Carla and our sons Michael and Skyler. We also have a new addition our daughter in law Meaghan.

Student Pastor: Kyle Upton
Role: Give leadership and direction to all of our student ministries.

Steve & Krysti love children. They also love parents too. Since coming to Sunnylane they have started a Children's Church for preschool thru 2nd, Parent's night out and many other nurturing programs to meet the needs of your child and family.
